South Africa’s Online Reputation #Fail

22 06 2009

Everyday my blood boils as I read yet another negative story on the South Africa’s ability to host the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The lack of any concrete base in all of the accusations made against South Africa’s ability really frustrates me.

My top 5 reasons why South Africa will #fail in hosting the 2010 FIFA World Cup:

• Because you’ll get shot by Zimbabwe farm raiders. Aiden Hartley from The Daily Mail

• Blacks are allowed to run around freely in the street. Sheldie Cohen of AspenWebcam.com

• The pitches are so bad in Botswana that New Zealand refused to play, therefore we are not ready

• Air horns (vuvuzela’s) are allowed in South African stadiums (There are even Facebook groups to ban them)

• Crime epidemic, check South Africa’s YouTube CV (pretty scary)

Chris – you just point to the Confederations Cup, the IPL and the B&I Lions tour and you ask which international country of our size and infrastructure has EVER achieved three major events of that nature in 4 months?

Even the powerhouses like Germany and the UK haven’t done that before and let’s be honest while the Lions tour was a “known quantity” in terms of expectations and impact the IPL and the Confederations Cup were complete unkowns in terms of how the international and local people would respond.

Put simply – we kicked ass….

I saw you Tweeted something about doing some social media and Autism related stuff? One of my businesses is involved in remedial & special education publishing so maybe I can help out? Drop me a mail

Not just Facebook groups to ban them, came across a German website with a twitter set-up in tow . I almost pulled out my hair, which is why I wrote a post on my new Vuvu blog – pop over and have a look.
